Decorating With Pumpkins, Squash and Gourds

I love decorating for fall with Pumpkins, Squash and Gourds. And I am not talking about just carving Jack-O-Lanterns to put out on the porch. I am talking about making a themed display or a vignette to showcase the bounty of a fall harvest. And, I am not the only one. And here we have pumpkins and squash in a dough bowl.  Have you noticed a theme this year?  Seems greens and whites are the go to colors for decorating this fall.  And if you want to make your own decorative pumpkins, there are lots of tutorials and tips on decorating faux pumpkins.

Here you can learn how to give an orange pumpkin a makeover with white paint and watered down metallic paint.

These use pieces of black lace to make them look ultra Goth.

Now these jeweled pumpkins by Horchow could easily be duplicated using a little glue, sequins and glitter.

Use a doily to stencil a design.

Unfortunately, the link on this image was not good, but just painting or stenciling a greeting works well, too.  Of course, as an alternative to carving a Jack-O-Lantern, there are tons of cute alternatives, such as these.
