It’s A Beautiful Day

August 25, 2014 by tigermucha Leave a Comment

Today was a beautiful day.

White Hibiscus - Rose of Sharon

It seems like we have had nothing but rain the entire month of August.

Toad Lily

I know we really haven’t, but it sure seems that way.

I guess that’s why we have so many mushrooms popping up all over the garden.

I love how they come out of nowhere.

And there are so many different kinds.

Funky Shroms

Like these funky little shrooms that came back to life.

Fungus

And I am not even sure what this hot mess is.

There were a couple of patches of this stuff.

And I love this little happy family.

This kind of mushroom often comes up in groups in our yard.

And it always looks like someone took a bite out of them.

Here is another kind of little mushroom group.

Lichen Covered Twig

Even this lichen covered twig peaked my interest today.

But as far as cutest mushrooms of the day, these little red beauties were the winner.

Obedient Plant

But it wasn’t all about mushrooms and fungus today. There were beautiful flowers, too. Like the patch of lavender Obedient Plant that is starting to bloom. Or the white Rose of Sharon that is still blooming by the deck. And the freckled Toad Lilies that are starting to bloom.

Fall is coming. My Fall Clematis is starting to bloom on this beautiful day. So let me enjoy the sights of the late summer garden while they are here. Thank goodness it stopped raining.
