Fall Jewelry

September 5, 2013 by tigermucha Leave a Comment

It has been a while since I posted anything about the jewelry that I make.  I still make jewelry to wear and sell, for some reason I just have not been sharing anything new with you.  Well, this weekend while in Bristol, TN antiquing I found a nice little piece of costume jewelry that I thought would make a wonderful necklace for fall.

I added some topaz crystals and a pinecone trinket along with some glass leaves.

And then I added some links of brass acorn chain and hooked them to two sections of mixed metal link chain.

It has a brass toggle clasp with another leaf, reinforcing the overall fall theme.  And I threw in a few Swarovski crystals here and there to add some sparkle.

And I made a pair of matching earrings to go with…

And while I was in the mood for fall I made another necklace using an iridescent copper cottonwood leaf as a focal pendant with red and brown tiger eye round beads and smoky topaz crystals mixed in here and there.

I love these cottonwood leaves.  They are made from a real leaf and wonderfully catch the light with their iridescent finish.  I like how they pair with the red and brown tiger eye.

This necklace has a copper S-Clasp and clear crystals added in for extra sparkle.

And of course I had to make earrings.  This was a new type of dangle for me to make.  The long drops allow extra movement and are lightweight.

I am still in testing mode, wearing each piece to ensure that if fits well and is functional. I do that with all of the jewelry that I make. The hard part is sometimes I don’t want to move to selling mode on pieces that I really fall in love with.
