You Planted That Where?

June 6, 2013 by tigermucha Leave a Comment

Today it’s raining and since I cannot really do anything productive outside,  I want to share some unusual places to put plants that  I have collected on my Gardening board on Pinterest.  Some may not be that unusual anymore, but most are awesome ways to reuse items rather than cast them off into a landfill somewhere.  I hope your creative juices get pumping and inspire you to see what you can come up with.

Clicking on the images should take you to the site on the web.

Campanula in Chest of Drawers

This is a neat way to fill an old chest of drawers.

Bathtub Planter

I am so in love with this bathtub planter!

Birdcage Planter

This birdcage planter looks wonderful full of succulents!

Breadbox Planter

This is a clever way to use an old metal breadbox!

And another way to use a breadbox for a planter!

Chicken Feeder Planter

Here is a fun way to plant succulents – an old chicken feeder!

These Hostas look fabulous in this old washtub / sewing machine combo planter!

Car Planter

This one is a little over the top, but I love it!

Floor Lamp Planter

I often see old floor lamps that need rewiring.  What a cool way to use for a planter!

Sinkbasin Planter

And this is just too cute!  I have an old sinkbasin in my garden, but it does not look nearly this cute.  I need to get mine up to snuff!

Planter from Vintage Silverplate Urn

Here’s one I did a few weeks ago.  You can read about it here.

Watering Can Planters

And I made these earlier this spring.

I hope you found some ideas to reuse some of the things you have lying around your yard or house.  If you do, let me know what you did with your upcycled planters!
